Here are a few standard programs we offer at our Vacation Farm in the Pululahua Crater. For a description of the region and the farm request at our brochure. These programs should give you an idea about their nature and their costs but please keep in mind that we are very flexible and will put programs together according to your needs and wishes.

C1 : 1 day ( Hiking and Agriculture )
We leave early in the morning from Quito and arrive in 1 hour at Ventanilla, the top viewing spot at the crater. There you hike down to the bottom of the crater and arrive at the Finca Colibrí after 45 minutes. The rest of the morning we hike around the crater to enjoy its beauty. After lunch we start out on jeep and leaving the crater head down to the small village of Nieblí, passing a deep canyon and experiencing the changes in the vegetation turning to sub-tropical. In Nieblí we visit a sugar cane farm and its small distillery. Finally we head to an old mine, from where a path leads us down the canyon to the river Agua Blanco. After returning we head back to Quito with a stop-over at Mitad del Mundo, the Equatorial Line Monument.

C2 : 1 day ( Hiking and Horseback Riding )
We leave early in the morning from Quito and arrive in 1 hour at Ventanilla, the top viewing spot at the crater. After a short rest we start out on horses and ride for 3 hours along the crater walls, circling Pondoña, the hill in the middle of the crater. On this tour we get to know the whole crater and be in awe of its huge dimension and its rich and diverse flora and fauna. After lunch we return towards Quito with a stopover at Mitad de Mundo.

C3 : 2 days / 1 night ( Hiking and Horseback Riding )
Day 1 - We leave early in the morning from Quito and arrive in 1 hour at Ventanilla, the top viewing spot at the crater. There you hike down to the bottom of the crater and arrive at the Finca Colibrí after 45 minutes. We have lunch there and rest for our 3-4 hours afternoon hike up Pondoña, the hill in the middle of the crater which once was the peak of the volcano. In the evening we have a big barbecue and stay overnight at the farm.

Day 2 - After breakfast in the morning we start out on horses and ride for 3 hours along the crater walls, circling Pondoña, the hill we climbed the day before. On this tour we get to know the whole crater and be in awe of its huge dimension and its rich and diverse flora and fauna. After lunch we return to Quito arriving afternoons.

C4 : 2 days / 1 night ( Hiking and Mountain Biking )
Day 1 - same as Day 1 above in C3

Day 2 - After breakfast you get on mountain bikes and start a 3 hour ride out of the crater and down towards Nieblí, a small village which lies west to Pululahua and at an altitude much lower. On this tour you experience beautiful scenery, a deep canyon, vegetation changing to sub-tropical, fields of sugarcane and much more. You are picked up at the lowest end of the road and after lunch we drive back to Quito where we arrive afternoons.

C5 : 2 days / 1 night ( Mountain Biking )
Day 1 - We leave Quito in the morning and arrive at the Hacienda San Jorge after an 1 hour ride. There you start your first leg of your tour. First you climb up to the park entrance and then follow the road down to the crater. After 2-3 hours you arrive at the farm where lunch awaits you. The afternoon is spent at the farm.

Day 2 - You start early in the morning driving out of the crater towards Nieblí, visiting a sugarcane farm and its distillery. After lunch you climb back and take the road out from Nieblí towards Calicalí. At the Hot Springs just before entering the main road the jeep awaits you and brings you back to Quito.

C6 : 3 days / 2 nights ( Hiking and Horseback Riding )
Day 1 - same as Day 1 above in C3

Day 2 - We start early in the morning as this tour on horseback takes around 8 hours. We pass Pondoña on the left side and continue on to Chaupisacha. The path takes us along a deep canyon which we cross further down at an old mine. After lunch and a short rest there we return on the other side of the canyon towards the crater passing Nieblí, a little village. Finally we enter the crater on the right side of Pondoña and arrive late afternoon at our farm.

Day 3 - After breakfast we start out in jeep to Moraspungo, where we hike on nature trails put up by INEFAN and enjoy the great views and learn a little bit about the plants of the crater. You continue then the hike out of crater and towards Hacienda San Jorge passing fields and pasture. There the jeep picks you up and brings you back to Quito arriving afternoons.

This is the price for the rent of the whole house and the use of the farm with its horses. It does not, like in the tours above (C1 - C6), include transport, food, guide and entrance fee.
