The Muses is a classic Greek Revival style home built in 1858 by cotton merchant Richard Terrell for his family. It boasts 15 foot ceilings, with original masonry and Louisiana cypress woodwork. Elegant, but understated, the Muses is a prime example of New Orleans architecture. Furnished with period antiques and oriental rugs, the house showcases artworks of Louisiana artists, including artist/owner Georgia Ross.
All rooms are spacious, uniquely decorated, and have ensuite baths. Their antique furnishings provide ante-bellum ambiance as well as modern comforts, such as stereo, cable TV, telephone, A/C and ceiling fans. Your rate includes a full gourmet breakfast, which is served from 9 to 11 a.m., using healthful organic foods. Fresh fruit and beverages are also complimentary, and guests may use the kitchen and laundry facilities if they so desire. Your hostess, Georgia, and her cat, Despot, look forward to welcoming you to the city.
