"The Happy Farmers" | "Who Expect Miracles" | |
Praise the Lord! | and Harvest shall not cease." (Gen.8:22) | Hallelujah! |
It's time again to SEED the wheat into the well prepared soil at the Happy Farmers headquarters, 12 miles south and 1-1/2 miles west of Alva, Oklahoma.
It's the first part of September and in nine months we EXPECT to HARVEST a bountiful wheat crop. Hallelujah!
Same Expectancy
As I plant this SEED of God's Word into your mind and heart, I have the same EXPECTANCY that you will be harvesting a bountiful harvest of blessings in your life; as a result of these writings taking root in your mind and heart and beginning to grow.
I believe I will be writing for the next few issues on the subject of the ANOINTING, and it will be based on the INCORRUPTIBLE SEED of God's Word. 1 Peter 1:23-25.
What is the Anointing?
The anointing is the manifested POWER of God. We could say the anointing is the manifested PRESENCE of God. When the anointing is present something is going to happen. We read in Luke 5:17 that the power of the Lord was present to heal the people who came to Jesus. The anointing is tangible - it can be felt. Just as electricity is tangible, so is the anointing tangible.
Through the majority of the church has been ignorant of the anointing and how it functions and operates, that does not change the fact that we can, by the Spirit of God, understand the operation of the anointing and flow with the Spirit of God. God's people no longer need to be destroyed for lack of knowledge, unless they reject this knowledge of the anointing. (Hosea 4:6).
Many of our churches are not fulfilling the needs of our younger generation because they deny the POWER of God its rightful place. As a result they are turning to rock music, drugs and alcohol. They have a hunger for the supernatural Power of the Holy Spirit.
A church may have lots of programs going but without the Power of the Anointing - the touch of God - it has nothing at all that will satisfy their spirit hunger. When the anointing is present, something good will happen. If it isn't present, nothing will happen.
Not By Might Nor By Power
The Scripture says, "Not by might, nor by power, but by MY Spirit, saith the Lord." (Zach. 4:6).
It is not our power; it's His. It's not our ability; it's His. He wants us to rely on Him and trust Him to meet our needs.
When the Holy Spirit's Power and Anointing came on me in 1976, out in the green pasture, as I sat down on a rock, I asked the Lord if He was trying to tell me something, and He said, "Yes I am". "I haven't filled you with My love and My POWER, to just sit here on the farm and enjoy it." He told me He would open the doors where to go and all I needed to do was walk through those doors and SAY and DO what He told me to SAY and DO and He would miraculously change people's lives everywhere. I ministered. I don't do anything in my own power and ability. It's all by His Power, as we allow the Holy Spirit to flow and have free reign. Hallelujah!
Again, let me say. It's not our power; it's His. It's not our ability; it's His. We are totally dependent upon Him to do the work. Jesus said, "Freely you have received (Merlin), freely give." Matt. 10:8. He said, "Behold, I give unto you (Merlin) power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy." (Luke 10:19). That promise has your name in it too. Hallelujah! If you believe it, you will receive it.
The Anointing Destroys The Yoke
"And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing." (Isa. 10:27).
We have all heard it said that the anointing breaks the yoke. If you break something, you can glue it back together again; but if you destroy it you will not be able to fix it up again. There is a big difference between a yoke that is broken and a yoke that is destroyed. Praise God!
When we get the revelation that that ANOINTING is the very tangible presence of Almighty God, then we will begin to operate in the miraculous power of God. Hallelujah! When we minister by the power of the anointing, we will find an actual transference of the anointing. His Presence comes to minister to people, to set them free, to deliver them. Praise Jesus!
Listen, listen, under the ANOINTING, God can do more in ten minutes than we can do in weeks!
The Anointing is the Equipment
The anointing is the supernatural equipment to get the job done. God will never call someone to do something without equipping them with the necessary tools to get the job done. Just as a mountain climber has to have the right boots and equipment, so we -- if we would be able ministers of the new covenant - need the anointing.
I don't ever want to minister without the Anointing of God. Otherwise, whatever is done will be done in my own strength and ability. We need to hook up and flow with the anointing of the Holy Spirit, if we want to see results.
Many times when people greet me and ask me how I am; I say, "SUPER-NATURALLY" I refuse to live any other way! HALLELUJAH!
People who are not walking in the Spirit, but walking in the flesh (Gal. 5:16;25) hear that or see me as being arrogant. But that is not so, it's simply because I know who I am in Christ Jesus. I know I am nothing and can do nothing of lasting results without staying full and overflowing with the Power and Anointing of the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah!
We have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the Power may be of God and not of us. (II Cor. 4:7).
The Anointing is not based on a man's education or the lack of it, on the contrary. I've seen some very unqualified people minister under the greatest anointing. Sometimes natural ability and talent hinder the individual from being used of God because they are relying on their ability and not on Him.
God takes the foolish things of the world to confound the wise. (I Cor. 1:27). Not many high and mighty are chosen, but God takes the weak things of the world - the things that are nothing - to bring to nothing the things that are, so that no flesh should glory in His Presence. (I Cor. 1:28-29).
Our success in the ministry all revolves around the 'Call of God' and the 'touch of God' on our lives, not our ability and our education. Praise Jesus!
The Anointing is Like the Wind
The anointing is like the wind. We cannot see the wind but we can see the results of it, and we can feel it. People get saved, healed, set free and delivered by the Power of the Holy Spirit's Anointing.
Some of us may wonder why we so seldom sense the Presence of God. It could be that we are so caught up in the affairs of this life that our thought life is far from Him. Could it be that most all of our waking moments are taken up with the things of the natural? And we spend little time in worship or communication with the Lord?
It's almost like we are on a different wave length. It's like having a radio and wanting to listen to a certain station, but not tuning in to the correct frequency. We'll never pick up the MESSAGE. But if we make an adjustment down in our spirit, suddenly the signal (message) will come through loud and clear. Hallelujah!
Next issue we will look at the life and ministry of Jesus so that we can fully understand the words of Jesus when He said, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do, because I go unto My Father". (John 14:12).
BELIEVE IT
Becoming One
I will continue from last time on the subject of Unity.
Jesus prays for all Believers in John 17:20 & 21. "My prayer is not for them alone (the disciples). I pray also fo those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as You are in Me and I am in You."
We do know God really does want to bring this unity about and Jesus really does want His prayer answered in our day!
It's time for the strength of unity, for the power of practical love to show the world the truth about Jesus.
We will discover the awesome power that is released when Believers really are one.
I read an article in Charisma by pastor Ted Haggard, telling of how the pastors were encourage to sign a "Covenant of Mutual Respect" in which they pledged not to speak ill of each other despite their religious differences, and are meeting together once a month for fellowship. This has made an impact in the city of Colorado Springs.
I Thess. 5:14 & 15 (New English Bible) "And we would urge you brothers to admonish the careless, encourage the faint-hearted, support the wek, and to be very patient wit them all. See to it that no one pays back wrong for wrong, but always aim at doing the best you can do for each other and for all."
Heb. 10:24 & 25 (NIV) "Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us knot give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching."
Remember how the geese "honk" to encourage those flying up front to keep up their speed?
I remember reading about a little child who was lost. Many were searching for her but without success. Finally someone suggested that they all hold hands and comb the area and soon they found her lifeless body. The comment was made, "if only we had joined hands sooner."
May that not be said of the Church! But let us comes into unity and make a difference regardless of the name above the door. We're brothers and sisters if we're born again and made Jesus, Lord; which makes God our Father. I still like Gen. 13:8(b) L.B. "Close relatives such as we are (that's us the Church) must present a united front."
Eph. 4:3-6 (NIV) "Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit - just as you were called to one hope when you were called - one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all."
